Newbery Award-winning author Richard Peck is very good at weaving together entertaining, often hilarious stories with life lessons while never losing his sense of humor. He has won numerous awards including the Scott O’Dell for River Between Us, the Newbery Award for A Year Down Yonder, and a Newbery Honor for A Long Way from Chicago for which he was also the National Book Award finalist.
