Utah author Amy Jarecki will read from and sign her novel, Koicto.

Set in an ancient Native American world, the warrior Koicto dreams of leading his people through the ravages of war. Summoned by the Tribal Elders, he proves he's worthy to lead. But the Elders proclaim him a shaman--a medicine man and force him into an arranged marriage, ignoring his love for Pavati and ignoring his desire to become chief of the Nahchee Nation. When Koicto's vision of war unfolds, he must fulfill his destiny and avenge the wrongs. If he fails, the Nahchee will be no more.

Jarecki was born and currently lives in Cedar City, Utah. Koicto, based on the cultures of the Fremont tribes, won the 2011 Utah League of Writers grand prize for best manuscript.
