Friday, November 30, 7 p.m. "Invisible Disabilities: The Problems of Perception" will have its premiere screening Friday, November 30 at the Salt Lake City Library, 210 E. 400 S. This moving 20-minute documentary examines the challenges adults with special needs in our communities face when their disabilities, at first glance, can be hidden or "invisible". The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Temple Grandin, Ph.D., author of Thinking in Pictures; Chief Chris Burbank, Salt Lake City Police; and William M. McMahon, M.D., U. of U. School of Medicine. The panel will be moderated by Betsy Burton. The DVD and selected books, including those of Temple Grandin will be available for purchase at the event and in our store now. Directed and produced by Jenny Mackenzie, "Invisible Disabilities" was produced by Kit and Betsy Burton and The City of Salt Lake. The Utah Film Center is a fiscal sponsor of the project. |
