Mother and daughter co-authors Janet and Lynn Kaufman will present a family workshop featuring their guide, The Grump Meter. The whole family will learn simple techniques that help children and teenagers prevent temper tantrums and manage their anger.

With its bright colors, The Grump Meter is a powerful visual aid that leads to rich discussion and exploration with young people. It focuses specifically on the spectrum of feeling from calm to angry, and the associated temper tantrums, bullying, and outbursts that happen when kids' anger gets out of control.

Janet is an associate professor of English at the University of Utah. Lynn is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with children and teens in residential treatment since 1988. She teaches courses in Children and Families, and Diversity at the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare, and as a field instructor to graduate social work students.
