In Jen's own words..."A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places." The evening will start with a slideshow of, yes, hilarious cake wrecks, then a Q&A period and then the judging of the cupcake contest. That right: you make a cupcake version of your favorite Wreck, bring it in, they'll judge it, and you could win fabulous prizes, fame, and the adulation of Wreckies everywhere. And then Jen will sign books. Check out her blog: cakewrecks Come early and stay late! Seating is general admission and limited. Doors to the 15th Street Gallery, where the book talk portion of the event will take place, will open at approximately 6:30 p.m. |
