 Saturday, March 10, 7 p.m.Matthew Bowman will read from and sign his timely debut book, The Mormon People: The Making of an American Faith. This frank, balanced and readable history of Mormonism by a respected American religious historian explores the past and reflects on the future of this faith and puts the religion’s origins in context. Bowman teaches religion at Hampden-Sydney College. His work on American evangelicism and Mormonism has appeared in, among other places, Religion and American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation, Journal of the Early Republic, and The New Republic. |
