An advocate for and supporter of the arts both locally and nationally,
Jo Ann Freed Chavré has chaired the Utah Arts Council, served as a
State Representative to the National Endowment for the Arts, and as a
board member of the Western States Arts Foundation. She also has been a
leader in advancing equal rights and opportunity for women.
Chavré's short stories have appeared in The Louisville Review and the anthology, Women Writers of the Southwest. She divides her time between Salt Lake City and Lummi Island, Washington.
