Treasure Island is an adventure novel of 'buccaneers and buried gold.' The stories originally ran in serialized form in the children's magazine Young Folks between 1881 and 1882, penned by a Captain George North--the pseudonym of Robert Louis Stevenson. On 23 May 1883, it was published as a novel and has influenced the worlds idea of pirates and swash-buckling adventure ever since. About the Author
Robert Louis Stevenson is one of the most translated novelists ever to grace the human stage. His most beloved works include 'Kidnapped, ' 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, ' and of course 'Treasure Island.' Born in Scotland, 13 November 1850 and died in Samoa on 3 December 1894 at the young age of 44
