The stories are unusual, yet strangely common to us all-from his childhood as a Little Leaguer ("A League of Our Own") to his later brushes with celebrity ("She Who Shall Not Be Named"); from his first car ("Lil' Blue") to his first hangover ("The Russians are Coming Up"). While the majority of stories are funny, some delve into his more serious side; but without being maudlin or wallowing in self-pity. "Sis," "Journey On," and "The Block" tell of the author's self-discovery through his hard knocks and "A-ha" moments. There are laughs, tears, and an occasional gut punch - all delivered with hilarity - and sometimes a hanky.
Scott Perry is an award-winning art director, creative director, and writer who has spent most of his adult life in the advertising and publishing worlds. His essays have appeared in Salt Lake magazine, Catalyst magazine, QSaltLake magazine, and in his previous book Confessions of a Redheaded Stepchild. He is both a fine art painter and a somewhat internationally-known Jell-O sculptor.
